As I watch a 10 year old navigate distance learning and also prepare my own content for 4-5 grade "Doorstep Adventures" I realize that a very accessible and equitable platform is YouTube because it does not require any special codes, sign ins, or other security measures. It is very common in pop-culture and can be played from many different devices. However it is also like conducting your class content in a candy store with lots of TV screens around... all of the suggested videos in the side bar, advertisements and competing video content is easy to distract someone from learning the more slow "bird language" with someone like me narrating who is not good at editing a video with music and catchy scene changes.
WHICH HAS LESS DISTRACTING "OTHER" CONTENT YOUTUBE OR VIMEO?ORPractice the Pursue Knowledge Haka between online activities
In the many languages I used to welcome you before the haka practice I forgot to mention that we are standing on Cheyenne, Arapaho and Ute land. Remember our learning target is "I can learn from mistakes and conflict..." Please forgive my mistake and look for land acknowledgements in future videos - Many smiles
Use Flipgrid & record yourself practicing any part of the haka outside...
